dear ,
in one standard database table already one index is created for ebeln,ebelp,bwart and budat. but i want to make use of ebeln ebelp bwart and werks where werks is not an field in secondary index or primary key field. is it ok to use avaliable sec index (ebeln,ebelp,bwart and budat) or i have to create new index based on our requirment plz help .to get good db performance .

Hi ...
Just create another secondary index......That contain only ebeln ebelp bwart and werks
and use it in your select quarry.

if werks is having large amount of data then you can go for makeing indexes otherwise it is not necessary you use the available one.

if ebeln ebelp bwart gives large count, then go for creating the secondary index ebeln ebelp bwart werks. Else not to go for a secondary index. Because too many secondary indexes are not suggestable.

Hi Manoj,
If the previous indexes do not have the fields you have mentioned then you better create new index with ebeln ebelp bwart and werks . Database access through indexes is always faster.
