Hi All,

I have 3 check boxes in my screen. its a popup screen. i need to display some long text besides my check box in the screen. below is my selection screen decleration.

PARAMETERS: abcd AS CHECKBOX .

SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(15) text-250.

PARAMETERS: efgh AS CHECKBOX .

SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(15) text-251.

PARAMETERS: ijkl AS CHECKBOX .

SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(15) text-252.

when i was trying with out SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(15) text-250 the selection text's length is 30 only so my long text completly not comming. if i tried with this still its not comming.

can anybody give me suggestion.

Hi,

That is because the length you mentioned is only 15 instead of 30. Use /1(30) [ 1 represents position and 30 is the length].

PARAMETERS: abcd AS CHECKBOX .
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(30) text-250.
PARAMETERS: efgh AS CHECKBOX .
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(30) text-251.
PARAMETERS: ijkl AS CHECKBOX .
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(30) text-252.

Hi Ravi,

Thank you for the response. is it the maximum limit for long text is 83? and i want to put my long text besides the check box.

i was trying with SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 1(83) text-252. but its giving error.

can you help me in this way.

Hi,

In Selection screen Comment we have to mention the total length of the text which you want to display

Example :

text-250 = ' Text for first check box'.

Here the total length of text-250 is '24'.

So you have to write

PARAMETERS: abcd AS CHECKBOX .

SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(24) text-250.

Then you will get complete long text.

Hi,

Eventhought your selection text length is 30 but in comments the length specified is 15, so after 15 characters it will truncate the remaining characters. Increase the length in the comment statement.

Can anybody tell me how can i keep my text besides the checkbox and the text should be disply completly.

my text length is 93 but its showing the max length is 83. in text element screen its 93 as a maximum.

Hi All,

when i was trying to put my text beside the cheeck box i was using this code SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 1(50) text-250. then its giving the following error while activating it. there is no syntax error.

" Error when generating the selection screen "0200" of report "ZTEST_SOD_HI "

Any suggestions please.

Just break this text into 2 texts. like

selection-screen begin of block b1.
  selection-screen begin of line.
    selection-screen comment 1(70) text-001.
    selection-screen comment 71(23) text-002.
    PARAMETERS abc type c as checkbox.
  selection-screen end of line.
selection-screen end of block b1.

I have done as you said eventhough its giving the same error. this is my complete code. can you suggest me according to my code.



SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 200 AS WINDOW.

PARAMETERS: abcd AS CHECKBOX . 
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 1(50) text-250.
PARAMETERS: efgh AS CHECKBOX .
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(83) text-251.
PARAMETERS: ijkl AS CHECKBOX . 
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT /1(93) text-252.

SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN 200.

can anybody suggest me to reach my requirement.

Hi,

You cannot give length more than 83.

What alex was suggesting is to split your long text and give the rest in the next line.

Put the first set of characters in text-250 and rest in text-260

SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK block1.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF LINE.

PARAMETERS: abcd AS CHECKBOX .
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT  5(83) text-250 FOR FIELD ABCD.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF LINE.
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT  5(10) text-260 FOR FIELD ABCD.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK block1.
