changing vbak field length .

for this prob idid what most of the people sugest me that going to domain changing the field lenght.and

adjust the database table.here i got problem

after doing this there is no data in vbak.

can u suggest me that with effect to data changing the field length.

Hello Rani,

U have adjust the Table using the Tcode SE14.

There U should be careful The Save data radio button should clicked.

Do this now.

Before adjusting the table is the data available in the Table.Check it .

Or else U have contact ur Basis peoples to revert the Data back to the table.

YOu have already done this? Please contact your basis to get the data back.

Ther will be an option in se14 for retaining the data. YOu should check that option and then adjust the database.

i did also that,he is telling that he does not know about that.what can i do now.there is no data in vbak

developement server.i am getting tension what will happen.

Hi,

If you are doing the table adjustments , first you need to download the data from table , then only you need to do the table adjustments. if data deleted from the table , then download the data from Test system or production system into excel sheet and write a program in development system to upload this data .
