Changing Description of data element

Hi,

I am creating a table in which I am using standard data elements like kunnr, erdat etc. However, I need to change the existing description of these data elements.

For eg. KUNNR, the description that automatically comes is Customer Number 1. I need to change this to Customer No.

Can anyone tell me how this can be done?

create ur own domain/data element and give the description as you like.. donnot forget to transport when you are moving that object.

Hi,

You cannot change the description alone for a data element because when you give the data element for your table field the description given for it automatically coems there.So if you want another description you have to create a new data element for it.

dont try to change stadard data element discription.because data element is low level entity and if you change than your all object may get suffer from new discription.so SAP is not reccomnded to chage data element.

i would suggest you to create your own z data element and use as per your requirement.

Hi,

You are creating your own table. So, better create your own data element [ this could be done in se11 transaction].

For creating you own data element:

1. Goto se11.

2. create your domain in the domin part.

3. Enter your data element name in Data type field and create.

4.Atlast in the domain part just attach the domain which you created with your own

descriptions.

Hi,

SAP recommends not change... but even then if you want to change... Here is the process..

Goto tcode CMOD...

In menu bar....

GOTO --> TEXT ENHANCEMENTS --> KEYWORDS --> CHANGE 

It will then ask you for *Data element*  give KUNNR and  press ENTER.

Change as per you required there...
