Change standard change document object

Hi

I have to log the changes of material classification in any way. The standard material change document object doesn't log the classification, so the changes are not stored and not visible in the transaction MM04.

As I also see, it's technically possible to change the standard change doc object in SCDO, the system doesn't ask for a modification object key. So technically, I could assign a new table to the standard object MATERIAL, write changes with this object, and they will be visible in MM04.

So my question is if this modification of standard change doc object is foreseen by SAP? May I do it and will it not be overwritten by the standard updates in the future?

Does anybody have ideas?

TIA

There you can see, how change documents for classification can be activated.

Kind regards,

Hello Sandra.

Thank you very much, it could be a solution in my case.

I'd just also like to clarify it for the future: as SAP allow to add tables to the standard change doc object, is it foreseen by SAP or not? Will this modification be overwritten by standard updates or not?

Hi Aleksandr,

in this case it is not a modification - it's just a change in customzing.
