I have no SAP system at hand but I suppose that the key of sflight is not fully specified by the ON condition of the association. Therefor it is possible that on entry of spfli is joined with more than one entry in sflight. That does not match the cardinality you specified.

SPLFI have CARRID & CONNID
SFLIGHT have CARRID, CONNID, SFLIGHT

What do you think corresponds to cardinality?

That should be [0..*]. It is technically possible that for one combination of CARRID and CONNID there is no matching entry in SFLIGHT and it is possible that there are multiple entries in SFLIGHT for another combination of those fields.
