can BAPI_MATERIAL_AVAILABILITY be used for checking Purchase Order

Please let me know if i can use fm BAPI_MATERIAL_AVAILABILITY for checking the material availability of a PO item.

I want to implement the 'Check Availability' functionality of a PO item present in transaction' ME22N' in a report program.

please tell me if any FM/BAPI exists for the above functionality.

U can try with this BAPI " BAPI_ACC_PURCHASE_ORDER_CHECK".
