Please put some light on how to program for a BDC upload from an Excel file using session method and also to capture error records.

hi,

For transferring the data from the excel sheet to database. we have function modules like:

Text_convert_xls_to_sap

Alsm_excel_to_internal_table

for session method the log file is automatically genarated by the system this can be seen in transaction SM35, but for the call transaction errors are to be handled explicitly by using the structure Bdcmsgcoll.

here is the example for Text_convert_xls_to_sap using the session method

type-pools: truxs.
