how to change material master in purchasing tab batch management

we have wrongly created a material with batch management and entered stock in and out. As per our company we are not using batch management so we try to remove the tick mark in batch management in material master mm02 system would not save the master the error <b>Batch management requirement cannot be changed; choose "Display errors"</b>

hi,

"Batch management requirement cannot be changed" -

Once the material is made relevant for batch -by putting a tick in any of the relevant views in material master -it cannot be changed again if any delievry / stock is already maintained for that material.
