Barcodes centered when previewing but not when printing using zebra printer

Hello,

We have designed barcodes for container label using smartforms. When previewing, the bar codes are correctly centered using LOCL. However, when printed on a zebra printer they are on the left and hence difficult for the bar code scanner to read them. We want the bar codes to be centered when printing also. Can someone help how to resolve this issue?

Hi,

did you try with the maximum size of the field ?

Because, barcode size depends of the size of the value. If you print a barcode of 123 it will be smaller than 123456.

So, when you will ask to center the barcode, SAP will try to center for the full-size of the barcode, not the size of the value.

something like this :

[1234............]

[1234567890]

Thank you for your response.

We are using a template to position the barcodes. The cells are large enough to accommodate bar codes for MSEG-CHARG and MSEG-MATNR.

How you are Centering your Bar Code?. Zebra Printer will not recognize Center alignment via Paragraph format if it doesn't have that Alignment Settings at Paragraph format level. To make it like that Very good BASIS guy is required.

Alternatively you can create one Bar Code Separate window in Center Alignment of Label and print it.

Thank you for your response.

We are not using paragraph formatting as we understood that it does not work. The bar codes are being used in a template and we have an additional empty cell before the barcode so that they are at the right position.

Ya Jeeto,  if it is template then it is easy to print. Divide Row into 3 Equal parts and Print this Bar code in middle cell. then automatically it will be in Center of Label.

Yes there are lot of  issues with Zebra Printers. So many Basis guys didn't know how to Configure those Settings while installing in SAP. I have worked with nearly 51 Lables till now. Normal Printers worked fine. But Zebra Printer issue was there.

Hi Shumsheid ,

• Are you using a custom bar code in your smartform ? If so it has to be linked to the device type with proper print control assigned to it
• Check also the possibilities of using the output types LZEB2 & YZB200. You could seek the help of a basis consultant to load it for you.

• Try creating a window which will suit the size of the barcode and place it where you need the barcode.

The barcodes are found in a template and an empty cells are used infront of them so that the barcodes can be positioned. The print preview is working only printing is not good.
