BAPI_CHARACT_CHANGE with mass data

Hello Gurus

I have successfully used BAPI_CHARACT_CHANGE to upload variant characteristics and value in my test. Now I want to upload the read data set and it has around 40,000 values to be uploaded for a single charactersitics. Now the program is stuck on the FM and in bebugger I cant see anything happeing ecen after like 10 hours.

Please suggest me how to do it. It very URGENT
