Hi guys,

I'm having some doubts with adding fields to customer record.

I've searched the forum, and I've notice that the best way is using the BADI CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA.

I've created some Ztables and I'd like to include some of those fields on a new screen of the client record.

Can I do this only by using this BADI?

Can you guys help me and outline the basic procedures?

Hi,

The R/3 enhancement concept allows you to add your own functionality to SAP’s standard business applications without having to modify the original applications. SAP creates <b>customer exits,BADI's and BDT</b>(Bussiness data tool set) for specific programs, screens, and menus within standard R/3 applications. These exits do not contain any functionality. Instead, the customer exits act as hooks. You can hang your own add-on functionality onto these hooks.

I've searched the forum and I've found some guidelines in how to using the BADI I specified. My only question is how can I define the screen? Better, when into "Prepare Modification-Free Enhancement of Customer Master Record', I've created the screen group, but How can I change that screen group? How can I build the screen I want? Meaning, where can I define the fields I need to put into that screen?

You can do it provided a screen exit is present in that transaction.

How can I check if that transaction has any screen exit? Or how can I associate a screen group to that transaction?

In "Prepare modification free enhancement of customer master record" I have added an extra screen group Z1.

Next in BADI Processing of Master data enhancement I have created an implementation and activated it.

Finally in BADI - Customer Subscreens I have created and implementated an instance to call my own subscreen function program.

All the implementations methods are active.

The problem is, if i run xd03 (and use a breakpoint on CHECK_ADD_ON_ACTIVE) and try to see it for one of the existing clients, my screen-group never appears....

Do I need to turn anything on?

How can I add the new option (Z1) to the CUST_SCGR values?

Come on guys...I really need help on this field....

I've created the screen and I managed to put the desired fields showing up, but this only happens if I use one of the screen groups that already exist....Meaning, if I place my screen group (Z1), nothing happens...

How can I associate this screen-group to an enhancement?

Where do I activate this enhancement?

Better, Do I have to create an enhancement?

Please...any help is appreciated....

In the method CHECK_ADD_ON_ACTIVE,

you have to code like this:

if I_SCREEN_GROUP = 'Z1'.

E_ADD_ON_ACTIVE = 'X'.

endif.

Hi Ravi,

I've done all those things...the problem is when I'm testing the screen_group, it's never the 'Z1' value.... so it'll never be activated...

I'm missing something really really basic before all these procedures....

IN SPRO , make a search with search string "Enhancement in Customer Master".

I've done it...strange problem...I've cleared the screen-group and copied one of the existing, instead of creating a new one.....
