Automatic printing - settings

Hi All,

I'm facing a problem concerning printing:

We post GI against delivery via setting shipment complition status

- In production system an output is generated, processed and printed automatically

- In test system the same output is generated, not processed, not printed

Settings I checked:

- The output determination configuration is the same in the systems

(SPRO > LE > Shipping > Basic Shipping Functions > Output Control > Output Determination > Output Determination For Outbound Deliveries or trx NACE)

- settings for output condition record is the same (VV23 or NACE)

- settings in SU01 --> Default view - no immediate printing is defined (USR01-SPDB) are the same in both system

Additonal info:

- we are using local windows printer in output condition record

- "3" is defined in output condition record (NACH-VSZTP)

So, I would expect system not to process & print the output...

I cannot see any difference in settings between systems. What can be the possible causes of this system behaviour? Do you have any idea?

Thanks,

Csaba

Hello,

I'm not clear on what you mean by generated but not processed, not printed. Can you see the output in the spool list?

When you create the goods issue (MB1A?) is the print box checked? Does the user have the NDR = X parameter in their user parameters in PRD but not TST?

Regards,

Michael

Hi,

If all settings are the same you have to check if a specific program is launched when the message is processed.

You can check this in NACE.

Maybe this program changes the way your document is printed.

Hi Julien,

Thanks for your reply.

Please explain step-by-step what you think of exactly, how can I execute this check.

Thanks,

Csaba

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your post.

Output generated and not processed means: the output is generated for the transactional data (delivery) but it was not sent to print it out. If I open the delivery in VL03N I can see the output with yellow sign (not processed).

("Processing status of output as traffic light"; screen field: DV70A-STATUSICON)

I checked in SU01D: the user has no parameter in production and has only parameter "LE_SHP_DEL_MON_LISTT" in test system (that is in connection with report VL06O, not printing)

Thanks,

Csaba

OK, I got it.

Does it provide any details when you select the Processing log for that line? Is the print program still SAP standard or have you modified it?

Hi,

There's no processing log.

Both the output and the program are Z - the same in both systems.

Csaba

Solution:

There was difference between settings (configuration) in production and quality system, reason is unknown (perheps sequence of transports or someone modified the activity profile in target system w/o transport - I don't know). And the difference was in an activity profile we didn't think of (we were concentrating on shipment completion status whilst the problem was with loading end shipment status)
