authorization groups

Hello folks,

I had created a custom table. Now I want to create an authorization group and assign it to the table maintanence view.

How can I create an authorization group???What should I give as authorization fields???

Transaction code for creating Authorization object is transaction SU21

In the table maintaince screen you assign that authorization object just above function group.

I am just wondering whether the authorization groups and authorization objects are one and the same??? I am assuming that they are different.

And in the table maintanence we will give authorization group but not authorization object.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Use SE80--> Dictionary > Type group> Create

Thanks for all your replies. Authorization groups are different from authorization objects. We can create authorization objects thru SE80 -> edit object and can create authorization groups thru tcode se54.

They are not same. You can see authorization groups in table maintaince screen->environment->authorization group. There you can create if you authroization if you have authroizations. generally basic people will create it.
