archive the document using sara tcode ?

Hi all,

When i tried to archive the document using txn SARA i am getting the following error

' maintain the variant for the delete program first '

can only one tel me the detailed procedure for archiving the data using mm_matbel ?

Hi,

You haven't set up all you need. You have to create a variant for the delete program. Better check the documentation about archiving.

You should not implement archiving for any object before reading the associated notes.

As for your request, please refer to documentation about archiving material documents:

Hi Shiva,

With the below error it seems that you have not done basic customizing for this MM_MATBEL archiving object. Below are the required informations:

Maintain the variant for the delete program

1. In Archive administration screen > In Application tool bar > Click Customizing > Click on Archiving object specific customizing

2. Under Deletion settings > You can see Test mode & Production mode variants. Here you have to maintain the variant for your error.

A. Select Test mode and in the values, check for test mode radio button selection

B. Select production mode variant and in the values, check for production mode radio button selection

I would advice to also other customizing if it is not carried out in this screen, such as

1. Logical file name assignment (By default SAP standard logical file name will be assigned)

2. Archive file size ( Normally most of the client prefers to have 100 MB size)

3. Deletion ( Check to execute Manual or automatic deletion of archived data from the database)

4. Store setting - It is optional so if you have Archive server in place then create content repository and assign.

5. Check to execute store job manually or automatically

6. Archive scenario should be checked. If you don't have Archive serve in place then select delete before store so that you can successfully run the deletion program after write program.

Procedure for archiving process

1. In SARA transaction create write variant for MM_MATBEL, Select the material documents that you want to archive. First time go with test mode and based on result you can later schedule the same variant in production mode.

2. Click on Attributes and give meaningful description and Save it

3. Schedule the job and execute it

4. Check the job log for the results.

5. Deletion and store job is executed based on your customizing

6. If deletion and store job are manual then you have to schedule by selecting the archive session no.
