Hi friends,

Silly question from myside.

Who will store the flat file in the application server specified path??

is that the basis person or business people??

i mean what is the process here.

explanation will be appreciated.

Its generally the business that decides WHAT data is to be stored.

The question of 'WHERE' it is to be stored is decide by the IT department of that company.

The BASIS comes into picture , in order to let that happen.

Hi Kiran,

Adding to Ravi's input:

Its the Business & Basis who decides which & how to store data.

Related datas are stored in separate directories.

If you go to AL11 you will see lots of directories. Many will be storing System/Oracle datas. Which are very helpful in restoring data in case of some major loss data.

Since Application server is the heart of SAP. So its right place to store all the details there....

Hi,

There are Files in Appication Server which will be used by applications...

which will be uploaded by Basis person(especially some DLL files, some configuration files).

But there are some files which Test data,some files which are used by some interface programs will be uploaded by Business People.

generally they do it with the help of Transaction CG3Z incase if they want to uplaod from SAP or else they will log into application server and create or uploaod files.
