Application Server File

Hi,

Can anybody tell me if we can download a file in the application server with length more than 255?

[The length of intenal table field DATA is 900]

As I tried it but it doesot display data after length 255!!! If so can u tell me how to display the data > 255.

HI Shhetal,

YOu can do it.

Only that it is not visible in AL11 transaction.

Try to read the same file and see if you have any doubt.

But I am not getting the data even if i download it to excel!! I have to move this file to some server... then how can i be sure if this will contain the full data or not?

HI Sheetal,

You can not see the total line in AL11,if the line exceeds 255 characters(i think). so download your file using CG3Y transaction & download it to your local system & check out. now you will see total LINE.

Yes you can downlaod a file to application server with length more than 255.

Please use this transaction.

CG3Z - Upload a file to a application server from presentation server. Then you can save to your sektop and use notepad to browse the content.

CG3Y - Download a file from application server to presentation server

Hi,

You can't see the full file contents in AL11 ,But you can download more than 255 chars.try that.for quick check try WIth <b>CG3z and CG3Y</b> transactions.
