hello all,

can someone plz help me to start up with ALV reporting. i am confused after reading all the pdf's. what is the diff between normal ALV and that using classes?

how should i get on with this. i am fine in doing classical and interactive reports. can some guide through the process of learning this.

Hello Seenu,

There are number of sample report for ALV.

In SE38 give BALV* for reports with FM

give BCALV* for reports with objects.

Hope this will helps you.

Hi

You can learn any one of it. Grid control has many more functionalities. The concept is the same...just need to call FM in simple ALV and in Grid control, you need to call classes.

Grid control is useful, if you need to display 2-3 list on the same screen, creating nodes etc.

Hi,

The main reason why we write a ALV is for accessibility reason.That means the alv screen can be read using a software call JAWS.This is to aid Blind people to work on SAP.

There are additional functionalities in class based ALVs thats all.

For Function Module related ALV creation go to se80 and open the 'SLIS' development class.you will find a lot of demo programs there.Also the function modules are docmented.
