I have created an alv tree but unfortunately although I have the alv tree on the left side, I also have two columns

How can I get rid of these please?

there are many examples provided by sap, for example check BCALV_TREE_* programs

Please excuse my ignorance but where can I find these examples?

give BCALVtree . press F4

Or just go to Package/Dev-class "SLIS" and check all the programs with "TREE" in their names.
