Hi,

There will be some standard demo programs existing in R/3. In SE38 transaction, you can search by entering the string BALV. You will get many program with different functionalities. you can go through some simple ones for your understanding.

try this you ll get lots of example related to ALV

go to Se38

put BCALV*

press F4

you ll find lots of example related to ALV,test them and use them as per your requirement.
