ALV Editable and save

Hi All,

I have a requirement saying that the data will be displayed in ALV. If the user select the record and press change button which is there on the application toolbar, those record will be changed to editable mode. The user can change tha data , then validate the data and save into the z table. This same for creation and deletion also. How can i achieve this functionality.

Immidiate help will be appreciated.

Check sample programs :

BCALV_EDIT_01 to BCALV_EDIT_08 in the package SLIS.

They will solve all your queries.

Hi,

we had a similar req in our earlier project.

Insted of making a single record editable on ALV, create a new screena and display your required fields in editable and remaining in display mode in a new screen.This makes ur life easy. User will surely accept this as this will give a much better look and feel for him to edit even.

For delete:

You get the index of the selected row with the method:get selected row and delete itab using that index and call refresh alv display again

for create: you can follow the same procedure as change mode too...

Did you check BCALV_EDIT_01 to BCALV_EDIT_08.

All of the examples are related to ALV and are really elaborate and have loads of functionality built in it like :

Switching from change/Display mode

Validating data

etc
