ALV background job problem ...

Hi All,

I have one Z report in which there are around 70 columns .....but when i run this report in background only few columns appear in the output .....

I made changes so that output will be ALV list ... but when i try to open the background job file it is showing error as Request 7,107 in system TIM: internal error 0000000040/ 32 in spooler (buffer too short)

any solution ??

Can you please tell me in detail how to create such format through SPAD ....I tried but didn't able to create it.....

try a Temse consistency check... tcode is SP12

R u using ALV grid? or ALV list?

I used ALV grid first but didn't get proper output in background job as last few fields didn't appear in the output ...after that i used ALV list but it is showing error as i mentioned in the 1st question ....

Hi Sandeep,

Change the 1st statement of your program

REPORT ZALV LINE-SIZE 300.

Specify output device as LOCL or LP01 with format as X_65_255 for 255 character width of output.

If width of ALV output is more than 255 say 325, then create a format in SPAD as X_65_325 & assign the same to ALV.

In my report as per you mentioned 1st line is as follows

REPORT ZVR206_SALESORDERLIST

LINE-SIZE 580

LINE-COUNT 65

MESSAGE-ID ZTILMSG

NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING.

when i do f9 and choose X_65_255 it gives error that 580 columns too great for format "X_65_255"

what i suppose to do now ??

hi:

It seems buffer problem probably you are gathering large amount of data. Just for testing person, I would suggest to select only 100 / 1000 records and then execute it, if the result is as per your desire then 100% you need to use open cursor for it .

Hi Sandeep,

While defining the background job ... STEP 1... you mention the program name, variant etc.. click on PRINT SPECIFICATION & pass the format as X_65_580.

Ensure that you have created such a format in SPAD transaction => Page format => NEW

Assign the new format to the Output device which you are mentioning in the background job.

Hi,

I've answered this old thread for any in future who face this same problem.

In SM37:

Goto>Display Requests>Settings...

Then in "Display area"-->"From page"

Set it to from page 1 - "no pages of spool" then try to display

the spool again.
