ALE/Change Pointer Configuration for ZSEGMENTS

Hello all,

I have been searching for a few days now trying to obtain my requirement with extending of an idoc.  I am working with the following:

Message Type: HRMD_A

BASIC Type: HRMD_A06

Extension: ZHRMDA06

I extended the idoc because I wanted to include 2 extra infotypes which are not on that idoc.  Infotypes 77 and 709.

Here is what I have completed so far.

WE30...Created ZSEGMENTS to include below.

WE31...Extended the HRMD_A idoc to include the ZSEGMENTS defined below.

WE82...Updated the output types and assignments to idoc.

BD61...Activate Change Pointers

BD50...Activated change pointer for HRMD_A.

I change the address field in infotype 0006. 

Run the BD21...idoc is generated with the changes to address, everything looks good.

Do the same thing for the ethnic origin on infotype 77, no idoc is generated. 

I turned on logging onto table PA0077.

I am evaluating the change logs via SCU3, and I am seeing my changes on the field.

What I have tried...

I have tried creating a object in t-code SCDO (ZTEST)

I have associated  ZTEST with table/field PA0077-RACKY.

Tried running BD21...No iDoc generated.

I have been researching for a few days and it feels that this should be able to be done through configuration and not custom coding.  Am I wrong to think that?

Has anyone ever did anything like this before which they can point to documentation or even the appropriate search criteria on the SCN forums.

I think I got it.  I did what you said and when running I got the following error.

With a little "Googling...I found that this will not recognize the extension.  As a quick fix to get it working I did the following below.

I came across a couple of nice articles

1. Customer Enhancement (User Exit): ALE Functions in HR - Human Resources - SAP Library
2. Error in sending HR Master data to CRM - PFAL e... | SCN

Went to t-code CMOD and did the following.

Create a New Project - Call it whatever you want.

Add the Enhancement

Add the components - Double Click on EXIT_SAPLRHA0_001

Create the Include (Double Click on the Include)

Add the following line of code.

Tested out the Process ....WAAAALLLLLAAAA!!!!

Now this has me second guessing all of the configuration that I did in regards to SCDO and BD52?

I believe you have to enter the fields that trigger the changing pointer in tcode BD52. In my case these are the fields for BOM:

Sorry that I haven't responded, I have been trying to work through a few issues and this one got shelved.  I am back at it though.

I created a custom object in t-code SCDO

I created entries in t-code BD52 for the SCDO custom object.

There was a few discussion where it said it needed the first entry to be "KEY" to get it to work.  I have tried both ways and have been unsuccessful.

I'm not an expert on this and, fortunately, we don't use SAP HR, but I stumbled upon this Help article on change pointers for infotype 0105 and thought it might provide some clues. Maybe it's also "change pointers created but not processed" issue?

And when searching for the notes by 'Change Pointers infotype' it brings up quite a collection...

Hi Jason,

Got to transaction sm31  , enter  table name T777D find the infotype 0077 and double click. On the coming screen there is a field named IDOC segment . You should enter the segment name which you defined while creating the extension. For this case it is Z1P0077.

Hi Jason,

We are also having exactly same scenario. We have done following as of now.

1) Created custom message type.

2) Created extension for ZE1PA0077

3) assigned basic type and extension.

4) mantained entry in T777D for Z segment.

5) created SCDO object and assigned it in BD52.

6) activated change log BD61,BD53.

But still we do not have entry in BDCP2 table when we cahnge 0077 in PA30.

for other cahnges I can see entry for my custom message type in BDCP2.

so BD21 triggers IDOC and we can see custom segment for 0077 in IDOC.

but when we make change in PA30 for 0077 infotype ...entries sre not going in BDCP2 and hence BD21 is not picking up this change and not generating IDOC.

If we are missing something or doing something wrong?
