Adopt modification in SPAU

Hi,

Now we are using 4.7 and are going to upgrade to ECC 6.0 . we have applied support package in 4.7 and run the transaction SPDD successfully.

Now when I am going to adopt modifications in all the programs in SPAU transaction, it is asking to change each program manually for modification even after we try for retrieve to old version.

Is this the only way to modify each program manually to make adopt modification successful in SPAU or what should I do under this circumstance ? Since there are more than 200 programs which need to be adopt modification in SPAU and maximum programs have lot of modifications, it is time taking to do manually modification.

it has to be done with little bit care right.

if there is an automatic process then no need of taking special interest. right.

Hi,

I am not very sure why You say that you have to do adopt modification for all programs.

There are two basic options "Adopt Modification" and "Reset to Original". Which option you choose is based on your business requirement.

For example a developer applies a note manually i.e by using the modification key (Ideally this shouldn't be done), then this standard SAP program appears in SPAU. When the new version of the object is shipped by SAP all changes of the note would already have been done in the object.

In this case the object has to be reset to original.

But if the modification to the SAP object is to satisfy a business requirement that is specific to customer, you need to carry forward the changes so do Adopt Modification

So you have to decide which option you choose.
