Adobe form Java script for "check box"

hi expert,

Am having 40 check boxes on the form layout. each check box relate to the particular field in the program.

depending upon the value "X" or space i need to check the check box for that field.

if value of that field id "X" then i want to check the check box.

please metion where to do this coding in form. in which section.
