Hi,
In bd59, you add the field that you want to use as filter. then you add in bd64 the filter.

Hi Pankaj ,
So if i want a filter to be set on some distibution model's perticular message type then i need to first enter some "ALE Object type" .
What is this ALE message type?
can you give me an example on this ?

Hi Ashish,
There are two filtering in IDoc.
Segment Filtering:
Segment filtering can be achieved using transaction BD56. Here you can suppress a whole segment irrespective of data inside it . You have to give Message Type / Sender Partner / Receiver Partner.
Data Filtering:
Data filtering can be done in distribution model (BD64) where you can restrict whole IDOCS or partials IDOCS to be send based on data in fields inside IDOC depending on whether the segment in which you filter is at the highest level or at a lower level. For example in MATMAS if you put a filter of E1MARCM for a particular plant, only data for this plant will go and other plants will be ignored.

Hi Ferry ,
As you explained , for my case i need data filtering .
but when i specify entry in BD59 for the required segment type and its field name and mention my condition values in distribution model BD 64 still the IDOC gets generated.
I want to restrict the creatin of IDOC, how can i do this ?

Hii..Ashish..
These are the Steps to Implement Data Filtering in ALE.
Filter Objects: These are the Fields based on which you define The Conditon.
For eg: Matnr, Mtart...
1. Create a Filter Object (If it is not available for ur Requirement)
Tcode: BD59
New Entries:
ALE Filter Object type : MBRSH (Industry Sector)
Segment type : E1MARAM
Segment field : MBRSH
Save.
2. Link the ALE Filter Object type to the Table field in DDIC
Tcode: BD95
New Enries:
ALE Filter Object type : MBRSH (Industry Sector)
Table Name : MARA
Table field : MBRSH
Save
3. Creating Data filtering using this Filter Object type
Tcode: BD64.
Expand ur Model view.
Under the Message Type MATMAS
Double click on No Data filter / Data filter Active.
Create a Filter Group.
It will list out all the Filter Objects of the Message type:
(you should find the New filter Object type)
Double Click on the Filter Object type MBRSH .
Assign the Filter values
Save.

Hi Ashish,
Goto BD64 in Change mode, Select your Distribution Model for which you need to add Filter. Click on the subnode, at the last node there will be Filter which will not be active, double-click on that set the Filter Criteria, activate the Distribution model and Distribute the Views once again.
If the Filter option is not available in the subnodes, Select the Distribution model and click on the Filter button in the application tool bar, fill the values like sender system, receiver system and so on..
Cheers...
Santosh.

Hi Ashish
I am also having a similar problem. There is some custom coding we need to do in order to get the desired filter in the model. I will let you know once I find out.

Hi again,
I was successful in adding a custon filter type to the existing filter group for my business scenario. However while sending the data, I am still getting errors.
If you are having the same issue, in BD59, you add the field that you want to use as filter, then do BD95 and after that you will be able to see the filter in the model and you can give values.
The ale object type is a custom object: you can give any name starting with z. The field and seg name are known to you.
