Add Field in Material Master Initial Screen

Dear All,

I want that the material group will show in material master initial screen, so that at the time of material creation user will select the industry sector, material type and material group and based on that the material code will generate. and the material group was selected on the initial screen will come by default in the basic data 1 of the material master.

if anyone idea regarding this, plz share your views.... bcoz from somebody i have heard that it can be possible.

Check if OSS Note 44410 is of any use to you.

Hi Rita,

Yes It is possible, For picking material group input field as a pop window, when you select material group including with your existing combination.  you can validate and display your material group data in basic data 1 tab  by defaut . 

you can try function module exit  EXIT_SAPLMG02_001. Inside exit  you can add your custom  popup screen for your requirement.
