About data lenght

Hi All,

At first, I have create a data element, TYPE:CHAR, LENGHT: 20.

In sm30, I can input 20 characters.

But then I have changed the data element to LENGHT :100, I still only can input 20 characters. Why? How can I can input 100 characters? Many thanks!

Hi Yu,

Make sure you delete the table maintenance and then recreate the table maintenance again.

And also make sure you ADJUST the table using SE14 or Data Base Utilities under the SE11 Menu Utilities.

Try to recreate table maintainance generator by deleting the earlier one.

Hi,

When you have modified and adjusted a table for which a table maintenance generator has already been created,you have to delete the TMG and recreate the same inorder to reflect the modifications which you have recently made.

hi

you have to adjust the database table goto->se11->goto->utilities->database utlitiy.

there u have to you have a button activate and adjust button click it and then goto->sm30 and maintain it. your data base table will automatically adjust.
