Hi Experts,
i am having lot of doubts on ALE process, i came to know that it is to transfer the data from one client to another. But
1. I just want to know why should we need to send data from one client to another, data can be access by every client under one server right?
2. I want to know what is the use of ALE in the Real time ?
3. what is the scenario to send the data from one system to another?
4. Is it transfer the data from one client to another (or) one server to another?
5. If anybody having the requirement specification (or) Technical specification, please send it to me for better understand?
6. please help me experts, it is very urgent.
Please dont send me the links for ALE intergration and for Creation of Master iIdoc , i having good idea of that, only thing still i dont understand why should we transfer the data from one system to another, because data available for all the systems under one server, please let me know the above questions.
It is Urgent.
hi Murali
it is used for sharing data among different servers not among different clients
as u said u have good knowledge of creating ALE IDOCs so ALE is used to send for example PO from one server to client server where it becomes sales order.this is the real time use of ALE.
it is transfer the data from oone server to another

Hi
ALE is basically used to exchange data between the different application servers (different departments) with in an organization
Take a big company like GE or EXXOn-MOBIl which has their departments in different countries
say FI-co is in US, sales is in China, Peoduction is in India and purchasing MM is in UK
so in such scenario daily some thousands of transactions will happen in each country
so all these data changes are to be immediately updated at each place
so to transfer such type data between the application servers thie ALE is mainly used.

ok, if we are working with enduser, as u said we transfer the data from one application server to another server from different countries,
But if i am working with service provider, we can see only one DB server and all the data will be stored in one server. from any application server anybody could access the common data from DB. Then why sould we need to transfer from one application server to another?

ALE technology transfers IDOCs between two destinations. the destinations could be two clients on same server or could be two totaly different SAP systems.
For two clients, the application data is not same although they exist on the same SAP installation. So IDOCs can be used to exchange data.
For two indipendant SAP systems, they may have same master data and application data, but both systems need to be synchronised periodicaly. this is acheived by data exchange via IDOcs

hi murali
u r are right that anybody can access common database but if u make use of authorization objects then o nobody can access that data accept the authorized ones.
so u will hav eto make use of authorization objects for which the transaction is su01
hope it clears ur doubt
