Its is very much easy to learn abap....

I will give you the over view how to learn and how to go about it,

first basically you have to know what is abap? y u r going for abap? what do u need in abap?.... bla bla..

when comes in to abap..

1. you have to know basically regarding the work bench this consists of different objects related to database... like it starts with creating different fields ( domains, data elements) then like fileds v r having different concepts to know in data dictionary, u have to know how to create table with those fileds then u have to know how to create structures then u have to know how to add the structures in to the table and such things.... then comes views and indexes and lot of basic concepts r there...... once u finish with this block

2. you have to know how to create the applications with the use of fileds, tables what ever you have created and not only that there r lot of predefined tables also existing in sap with the use of those tables.... this is one more block to know. We can call this step as Dialogue programming....

3. once you aquinted with the application creation you have to go to load the data into sap system with the use of the above applications... like v have to collect the data from legecy system and v have to upload and download the data into and from the sap system this step v have to call it as Batch Data Conversion (BDC).... v can use sap provided predefined application, programs and tables to do this

4. Then comes Reporting like if u want to retrieve the data from the data base and not only that if u want to do any modifications to the data then u can do this with this above reporting. There r diffrence techniques available to do this ....

5. Till now everything is fine , then If you want to print those result in to a form or if want to put the retreived in in the standard format you need to have some sort of form rite.. those forms v will develop with the use of Sap scripts and smartforms....... like eg. purchase order...

6. Then comes advanced abap it includes Interface programming.. to explain about it, if u r having data in different systems in diffrent departments in an organisation and you want to transfer the data from one department to other department rite at that point you need to have some sort of interfaces between the systems rite... these can be done with the use of ALE and EDI concepts in abap....

7. There r lot of standard programs and applications existing in the sap system by default rite as i told u before...but those r not perfectly suitable for your requirement like you want to add some more fields to those applications or you want to add some more screens to the applications then you have to go with enhancements concepts in abap .... enhancements includes different userexits and one more concept is also there that is BADi's..........

8. If you want to transfer the data from different business partners with the use of diffrent business objects then u will go with bapi's concept
