To know kernel bit in suse linux

  Which command is accurate to know operating system bit

getconf LONG_BIT or getconf WORD_BIT.

we are getting differrent output for both....

Maybe see /proc/cpuinfo for CPU to be more accurate.

these two commands just to output the number of bit in different format (long int and int)

short int <=    int <= long int
