EC-CS Consolidation Support

I keeping hearing that since EC-CS is an older product and SAP does have newer consolidation products that SAP support for EC-CS will be discontinued in the new future.  Does anyone know if that is a true statement regarding SAP support for EC-CS and if so is there a know timeline ??    Appreciate any comments regarding the support for EC-CS going forward.

Kindly take a look at SAP note 1223308, please see following excerpt:

"The SAP consolidation solution EC-CS is an integral part of SAP ERP (Enterprise Ressource Planning). It is continued to be maintained on release SAP ERP 6.0 in the frame of the general SAP ERP maintenance strategy."

Similarly, you might be interested in SAP note 1171344 in context of SEM-BCS, please see following excerpt:

"The SAP consolidation solution SEM-BCS is an integral part of SAP ERP (Enterprise Ressource Planning). It is further developed on release SAP ERP 6.0, in the frame of the general SAP EHP (Enhancement Package) strategy."

EC-CS support stops in 2014 I believe (or perhaps 2015) but it is definitely stopping in a few short years.

We are in the same situation and plan to move to BPC shortly - BPC is more "web 2.0" and therefore is supposed to be flexible etc.
