Loading transport cost on stock

Hi All,

My client into infra structure development sector which have high voulme for Cement, Steel purchase.

Projects/Plants are all over India. To transport these material there is transporter vendor engaged by client which will pick the material from supplier's place and will transport to destination project/plant.

We are attaching the per unit transport cost in material PO as freight condition. (e.g. transport cost Rs 200 per TON of steel). We are attaching transport vendor at condition details.

As the project/plant based at very remote locations there may be other charges/cost involved during transportaiton.

E.g. Toll Tax, Entry Tax, detention charges, Outer Dimension charges etc. These actual costs receiving project/site come to know when consigment reaches site. ANd this will vary for same material for different consignment so can not be put in Material PO.

Now requirement is to Load/inventorise this Other charges on material stock while making receipt of raw material (Cement, steel). MIRO for transport cost will be done after some days after actual invoice (Including other charges) will be received. At this time if there will be no stock & and tray to adjust transport Other charges in MIRO it will hit to Price difference. And I want to avoid this as such amounts will run Lakhs for a Project/Plant for a Year.

So waht will be best option to load/inventorise the transport Other charges onto stock account.

Thanx in Advance.

Regards, Rakesh

hi,

in such a case i would say to amend the PO before doing grn and include the actual costs in the po to inventories the costs to stock accounts.

else enter the nearest possible values in PO and difference while posting MIRO.

Regards.

Hi Rakesh

You can use freight conditions in the PO conditions tab to load it on your stock.

Hope this helps!
