Editing of Delivery Quantity

Hi Experts,

Good day. Would like to ask if there's a way that the system will prompt a warning/error message in VL02N if it sees that the packed quantity is different from the delivery quantity.

The process of packing is done on VL02n. After editing the quantity in the screen 'Processing of Handling Units for Outbound Delivery' user will have to go back to the 'Pre-allocated Deliv' screen and edit the same quantity. Unfortunately, there are instances when some users forgot to edit the delivery quantity and proceed to click the save button. This will result in quantity difference of Pack vs Delivered.

The difference will only be discovered during GI posting since there will be an error stating that 'Delivery Item is not or only partially packed'.

Note: We tried to click the submenu 'Copy Pack Quantity as Delivery Quantity' but it's not working.

Once after going to VL02n-You are going directly to Packing--so missing of delivery qty may happens.

why cant we change the entry like VL02n>>Give Del No>>press enter and go inside the delivery>>>from there you can select all the line items and go for packing...(hope this may helps you)

You can avoid the packing option directly at VL01n/VL02n-if the user is not going inside delivery -with some exits.

Thanks for your reply. Does it mean that it's really not possible to have a warning/error message in VL02n when the packing and delivery quantity are not the same?

The only way is for us to change the sequence of our delivery processing?

Pls see below for the process that we are doing in VL02n:

Input the delivery no.

Click the Pack icon.

Click General Overview.

Edit the desired quantity then go back to the previous screen.

Edit the Delivery Quantity under the Item overview tab. Click Save.

Kindly note that there will be two times that the quantity should be edited. However, personnel sometimes forgot to edit the delivery quantity and proceed to click Save.

With this, we would like to ask if its possible to add a warning message that will prompt the users that there are partially packed articles.

Hi Experts,

We're still encountering this problem where Packed and Deliv. Quantity are not the same thus resulting to error during GI posting. Upon saving the Outbound delivery, system did not display any warning message that will prompt the user that there's a difference between Packed and Deliv. quantity.

Yes definitely, some warning message should trigger while saving. Most probably, it would be listed in OVM1 where you can change from Warning to Error message.

There's no warning message when we edited the picking quantity.

Hopefully, when we click Save there will be a warning message stating that the Packed quantity is different from the Picking/Deliv quantity. Is it possible?

Definitely, system would have triggered a warning message while changing the picking quantity either in VL01N or VL02N. Try once again by changing the picking quantity and share here what the message number is.
