Key User Extensibility is a major pillar of the SAP S/4HANA Extensibility concept. It enables business experts to do last mile extensions by their own. But it also provides a lot of value for developers.
In this session, we provide an overview on the key user tools and will answer the question why developers should care for it. We provide examples for extensions that are realized as combination of key user and developer extensibility. An outlook on how generative AI support will change the creation of extensions will round off the session.

Hi Thomas,
great session thanks - very interesting to see the latest features in this area.
Regarding UI Adaptation Mode. I've been working with S/4HANA cloud, private edition 2020 release, in which some apps support UI Adaptation Mode, but many don't, or at least not to any useful extent. I'm not clear if it's only the Fiori Elements based apps that support it, but not freestyle SAPUI5 apps? Or is it that either UI technology can support it, but the app developer must have taken some steps to enable it?
In the most recent 2023 release, should we expect that business apps generally will now support UI Adaptation Mode? Or is it mostly only apps that are also available in S/4HANA cloud, public edition?
thanks, Roger
Hi Roger,
you can expect that more and more Fiori apps are supporting the adaptation mode. Generally speaking all apps built with Fiori Elements do support the adaptation mode. For freestyle SAPUI5 apps, it depends on the controls. If they use so-called "smart controls" these controls also support the adaptation mode. So in these apps you will find sections that support the UI adaptation mode while other areas do not.
Thomas
