AI-assisted development is moving beyond code completion. Modern coding agents can understand project context, execute workflows, validate results, and autonomously perform complex development tasks. The UI5 Plugins for Coding Agents project extends OpenUI5 / SAPUI5 development with agent-aware capabilities such as project creation, API documentation access, validating, best-practice guidance, modernization workflows, and TypeScript conversion support.
In this session, we will explore what agentic development means in the context of OpenUI5 / SAPUI5 and how developers can leverage coding agents to accelerate application delivery while maintaining quality and consistency. Through live demonstrations, attendees will see how agents can scaffold OpenUI5 / SAPUI5 applications, navigate framework APIs, identify and fix OpenUI5 / SAPUI5-specific issues, apply development best practices, modernize legacy codebases, and support larger transformation initiatives such as TypeScript adoption.
We will also discuss the architecture behind these capabilities, including the role of MCP tools, specialized skills, and autonomous multi-step workflows that enable agents to move from simple assistance to goal-oriented execution. Attendees will leave with a practical understanding of how to integrate coding agents into their OpenUI5 / SAPUI5 development process and what opportunities and limitations to consider when building the next generation of enterprise applications.
