SAP SAPPHIRE 2026 highlights
- SAP Business AI Platform – It is an architectural change. Single unified platform to build, run, and govern enterprise AI.
- SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), and SAP Business Transformation Management (BTM) are core parts of the SAP Business AI Platform.
- At its core sits the SAP Knowledge Graph, a structured map of business entities, processes, and relationships across your entire SAP landscape. This is what gives AI agents a compass, so they don’t guess. They navigate.
- SAP Business Data Cloud is the business data fabric that ensures that every agent, every application, every decision draws from the same trusted, governed business context. It is the context layer for enterprise AI.
- SAP HANA Cloud, as an AI database, is now a core component of SAP BDC.
- Reltio and SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) are now components of SAP BDC. The Reltio acquisition is complete, bringing multi-domain master data management to SAP BDC by unifying, cleansing, and harmonizing data across SAP and non-SAP sources.
- Joule Agents will come directly into the business data fabric. For data teams, this is a big deal. Describe what you need. Joule identifies the right data sources, performs joins and transformations, and automatically applies governance.
- SAP BDC Connect for Amazon Athena
May 2026 highlights:
- SAP Snowflake is now generally available as a solution extension for SAP BDC. It brings Snowflake’s powerful AI/ML and advanced engineering capabilities directly into SAP BDC. It helps you run those workloads in SAP Snowflake without moving SAP data out of its governed context.
- BDC Connector for Snowflake marks a big step for the BDC open partner ecosystem. It now supports bidirectional data sharing, meaning data products can flow in both directions between SAP BDC and Snowflake with no data copied and full preservation of business context.
- Schedule Delta Loads for Replication Flow – you can now schedule replication flows that use delta-enabled objects by setting a delta load run at a scheduled time.
- Schedule Owner for Task Chains – it helps to schedule multiple task chains at the same time.
- Runtime Metrics of Views – This update lets you analyze view performance in much greater depth, including the entire lineage graph and all underlying source objects.
- Transport Runtime Settings – helps export runtime settings as part of the transport package when moving objects between systems, eliminating the need to reconfigure settings in the target systems. View persistency settings can also be transported to different systems.
- Variables in Analytic Models – When you use an analytic model as a source to another analytic model, you can now customize its variables (rename and/or change default values) and use them in the consuming model, including restricted measures or calculations.
- SAP Analytics Cloud QRC2 2026 update: YouTube video. (Asymmetric reporting, Composite versioning, Job monitor enhancements, decouple data panel, and recent and favorites in Open and Save dialogs)
