Is MDM actually worth it?

Every company has a backlog of improvements to complete. Oftentimes, master data management is relegated to that list. In this SAP blog post, we are reminded of the necessity, "What matters most is recognizing that MDM is not a task to be completed once and forgotten. It is a continuous capability — one that evolves with your business, adapts to new data sources, and scales as your organization grows."

Please share any insights from your MDM experience. Has adding the function to your landscape improved the effectiveness of any business processes? If so, what advice might you give a fellow data professional struggling with poor-quality master data?

Great point Corrie. AI Context = Transactional Data + Master Data. Equipping AI solely with the current and historical activity of the business seems to leave a grounding gap for AI. The article you reference makes me wonder if AI without solid master data collapses like a house of cards missing the center supports ... Or ... is the margin of error actually acceptable?
