SAP certifications do hold global recognition. It adds value to your resume especially in projects where the same skill is being requested. Also lot of jobs roles use SAP certification as a screening criteria.
SAP Certification is not the only thing which is required but definitely provides a baseline and confirmation of skills possessed. So if you have the skills certification will add a confirmation of it from the vendor SAP itself.
