Seeking advice: SAP Generative AI Developer - Hands-on access and Python prerequisites

Hi All,

I am currently working through the 'Solving Business Problems using SAP’s Generative AI Hub' learning journey to prepare for the SAP Generative AI Developer exam. SAP has done a fantastic job structuring this course, and I’m finding the content incredibly valuable.

I’m reaching out to the community for guidance on two points:

  1. Hands-on Access: I’ve noticed the BTP trial account doesn’t include the SAP AI Core service. While I'm willing to invest a bit in my learning, a full enterprise subscription is quite steep for an individual. Are there any cost effective alternative available for learners to practice?

  2. Coding Prerequisites: My background is primarily non-programming, and I’m working hard to bridge the gap. For those who have made a similar transition, are there specific Python courses or resources you’d recommend to get up to speed with the requirements of this course?

I look forward to your insights and would love to collaborate with anyone on a similar journey.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi,

We are glad that you find the learn journey useful. Let me answer your questions one by one:

  1. The learning journey includes a hands on practice  system setup specifically for this learning  journey and the certification, Hands-on Practice for Solving your business problems using prompts and LLMs in SAP's Generative AI H.... You don't need to setup the BTP Global Enterprise account just to practice the exercises in this learning journey. You can do that if you want to experiment with more models, or develop a pilot and working generative AI solution.
  2. No, there is no Python course by SAP.  However, code in this learning journey is presented in a simple manner with explanations. The focus is on problem solving skills instead of coding knowledge in a particular language. I wish you all the best for the learning  journey.
