Quick Actions for Joule

Hi,

Is it mandatory to have Employee Central Quick Action templates configured to use Joule Transactional use cases.

For example, if change of address is requested can Joule just change the address in the portlet without quick actions being configured.

Is there an answer for this ? I have checked and at some point SAP states that we should create Quick Actions, but have found documentation stating that NO configuration is required .... can we have an answer please ?

To straight, No — Joule does not require Employee Central Quick Action templates to be configured for transactional use cases. 

let says, for now, Joule in SAP SuccessFactors triggers actions through the existing EC framework, and Quick Actions are supported way for Joule to perform changes like Change of Address, Change of customer Name, etc.

Joule does not bypass EC workflows or write directly into portlets. So:  yes, Quick Actions must exist for Joule to perform the transaction.

To answer your 2nd Q : - No, Joule cannot update the portlet directly without the corresponding Quick Action.

Joule simply invokes the same underlying service that Quick Actions use — it doesn’t introduce a new write mechanism.

In short:
If the Quick Action isn’t configured, Joule can’t execute that transaction.     Pls check and let me know if this help you anyway.
