Hi
I am using the document Ai feature for invoices, I need to get the purchase order number and the document ai service works great when there is a label for the field e.g. PO or Purchase order.
We have certain invoices that will have the purchase order number added in a text section with no title, in this case the po number is not returned,
I am working with the json data coming back from Document Ai Premium Service but it does not return any reference to the po number as it is not labelled.
Is there anyway to extract this data ?
Many thanks
Darren

Hi Darren
You can create a custom schema by copying the pre-defined schema and add the description to schema field to influence the results.
Thanks

Hi Darren
I assume you are using the premium edition of the service and the basic UI.
Could you confirm if you are using the pre-defined schema for invoices. If yes, then it would be helpful to remove the default extractor and keep the setup type as "auto". This will route the request to underlying LLM. You can also add description to the field to instruct LLM on how to extract it.
Hope this helps.
If your setup is different, please feel free to raise a ticket under the component "CA-ML-BDP".
Thanks

HI Komal
Thank you for the response.
Yes, i am using premium edition and I am using the standard invoice.
Yes, i am using the pre defined schema for Invoice.
We can't add a description to the field as these are sent in from vendors.
Thanks

Hi Komal
That worked perfectly, copied the default invoiced, added a new field, gave it a desciption "po number starts with 4700" set it to auto and it is picking up the po number.
Thank you very much.

Is there a way to do this on the basic edition, i.e. extract the po number even if there is no label.
Looks like pricing for premium for our use case is going to be too high for the business

No, I don't think this will work in basic edition. "po number starts with 4700" must be an instruction for the "generative AI" and according to Service Plans | SAP Help Portal, generative AI is only available in Premium and Embedded service plans:
