Remove Embedded Packages with same name parent package

Hi All,

I am facing one issue, when I transport my package from development server to quality then it is creating a package with embedded packages. And when I try to delete embedded packages then it is not deleting and giving a message (The package cannot be deleted because it still contains objects).

Below is the screen shot of embedded packages.

Please suggest how to remove this as soon as possible.

Thanks & Regards

Shubhanshu

Check in development whether the package has been created correctly or not. Remove the assignment between packages by deleting the package in the packages included. If system does not let you do so, check with basis consultant, if any other ways are there or not.

Dirty way of doing it is changing the assignment at table level TDEVC - Remove parentcl and set mainpack to 'S' . ( This is not recommended  as the package creation program may be updating other table as well ) . Check the other packages and copy the attributes correctly  .

HI Jozef,

It is not working. As I shared screen shot in my original post, embedded packages are original package. And there is no package in package included tab and as you mentioned a dirty way of doing it is changing the assignment at table level TDEVC - Remove parentcl and set mainpack to 'S', when I use this approach then I found that there is one entry in table TDVEC with blank PARENTCL value, so it is also not useful.

Please suggest me another way.

Hi Shubhanshu,

Please edit your previous mail  ( Hi Jozef )as you answered to my suggestions not Jozef's . Also consider Jozef's option to resolve the issue.

Sorry there was a typo in my previous mail, instead of setting to 'S' (Structure Package), it should be set to 'X' (Main package).

Kindly paste the screenshot of the entry of TDEVC table in Quality client and also how the package hierarchy looks in Development client.

Regards,

DPM

Hi,

Is it working correctly in Development system . If yes, reimport the transport request to Quality with overwrite original option. If still the issue persists, raise an OSS ticket, SAP will look into it.

Also, compare the development class entry with other Z development class in TDEVC table and check whether there is any difference.
