[Intro] This is the SAP Developer News for September 26, 2024.

[Daniel and Pepper] For Petoberfest, I'm here with Pepper, and we're here to talk about the Extensibility Wizard, which was released last week and let users create extensions right from within the UI of their SAP app. For the first release, it will work in S/4HANA Cloud and will let you create custom logic, custom fields known as on stack extensions or custom or extension processes known as side-by-side extensions. [Don't go to sleep.]

One of the big benefits is that it's context aware. So for example, if I'm in the sales order application, it will offer me sales order related event triggers to go with my process. There's a little bit of setup involved. So your S/4 HANA Cloud has to know about your SAP BTP and SAP Build installations. That's fairly simple, just involves destinations, trust and communication arrangements. You also have to set up Event Mesh so that your events from S/4 HANA can arrive to process automation.

Luckily, my esteemed colleague Antonio Larediaga has already created two videos to show you very simply how to set this up. One to get your events from S/4 HANA into Event Mesh and then from Event Mesh to Process Automation. The extensibility wizard will undoubtedly be the talk of TechEd and that's why we've set up a Devtoberfest session where Sesh and Kartik can talk at length about how you set this up and how How do you use it? And you will be able to ask them questions. I will put links to all of the videos, the blogs, and the Devtoberfest session in the description.

[Thomas] It seems like just the other day we were starting our planning for this year's Devtoberfest. And here we are, nearly at the end of the first week of the four-week event. My how's time flown. Our team has been super busy both preparing for SAP TechEd virtual, TechEd on tour, as well as delivering these great Devtoberfest sessions to you. At the end of the first week, we've had a really packed week, great attendance. Up over last year, some more people are finding their way to Devtoberfest, which makes us very happy. We've had some excellent sessions across all the topic days.

Keep in mind that Monday is ABAP and CAP day. Tuesday is our day for tooling, Tooling Tuesday, where we're looking at SAP Build, Build Apps, Build Code, Build Process Automation, and how all these tools are bringing innovations for CAP development, low-code, no-code development, and ABAP development as well. Wednesday is our Integration Day. Thursday is MAD, our Machine Learning, AI, and Data Day. And then finally, Friday is both our Front-end Friday, which looks at SAP UI5 and Fiori and other topics related to front-end tools. But Friday is also our Fun Friday, where we have special activities.

Depending upon when you're watching this news item, There may still be time to enter into Petoberfest. Uh, that is our Fun Friday activity for September 27th. Post a picture of your pet in your work environment and, and you can earn some bonus points as well as have fun checking out everybody else's pet pictures as well.

Next Friday, we're going to have another special event. It's going to be our Techtoberfest day on, uh, October the 4th. And on that day, we're going to be asking you to post pictures of your work environment. Show us your laptop set up, your desk set up, whatever cool kind of thing you have set up in your work environment.

Hey, in week two, we will repeat the same daily track structure that you've that you've experienced in this first week. In fact, all four weeks will follow the same track structure, but our Monday is particularly packed with eight individual sessions across CAP and ABAP. We've got some really great things coming in that day. And it's going to be chock full of content. On Tuesday, I'm particularly interested to see the Build Apps, what's coming soon, where they're going to show both new AI innovations and the introduction of SAP UI5 output for Build Apps. Something that I've personally been looking for, for a while. We've got some cool stuff on the integration day around the event architecture and cloud events. We have content on the mad day around generative AI and using CAP with generative AI as well. So a real generative AI kind of day for that particular Thursday. And then finally, for our front end day, we have building elegant applications with Fiori for and Build Code for Android and an iOS Building applications for iOS as well. So we really have a mobile day focused on both Android and iOS

So we've got quite a selection of content for you all throughout the week and keep in mind once we finish week two we'll go directly into TechEd Virtual brought to you live from Germany And then we'll come back with more Devtoberfest, two more weeks of Devtoberfest after TechEd Virtual. And don't forget to enter into the contest. We have activities every day of the week, either by filling out validation tutorials for what you've just saw in your lecture sessions or completing tutorials that go along with them as well. So we've got lots of fun ways for you to earn points towards the big prize that you could win, win, which is, of course, a trip to one of the TechEd in-person events next year. And keep an eye out for TechEd on Tour, where from the ASUG TechConnect event, we're going to be bringing the winners from last year's Devtoberfest. We'll have some great pictures and videos from that event when it takes place in early November. So we look forward to seeing you in all the Devtoberfest and TechEd activities that are coming your way this month.

[Josh] Hey everybody. Are you as excited as I am that it is almost time for SAP TechEd? That's right. October 8th and 9th, SAP TechEd is happening this year. We're going to be coming to you live from Heidelberg, Germany. But if you can't be with us because it's virtual and you still want to talk with others and meet and watch the entire event, you can organize your own watch party. I know that several watch parties have already been organized for the SAP TechEd keynote, which is an hour and a half. It's going to be Michael Amling, Mohammed Alam, several others are going to be putting lots of great information out in this year's keynote. And right after that, for 30 minutes, me and Nora are going to get together and we're going to be hosting a community welcome.

So lots of watch parties are being organized around the world. The SAP community has several websites that I'll put links to in this video so you can see where others are getting together and maybe you can organize your own watch party as well. You can set it up, you can organize it on the SAP community website, and just let others know that you're going to be getting together to watch the Keynote and the Community Welcome and any other parts of SAP TechEd that you want to watch with others. I'll put a link to the one in Zurich, Hamburg, Sao Paulo, and then I think there's going to be one coming from Bengaluru, there's an SAP Inside Track, an SIT event that is happening on October 5th, and if you register for that, I believe you get an invite to the watch party, which is again happening on October 8th, when SAP's TechEd first day is going to go live at 9 a.m. Central European Time. I don't know where you are, so you have to figure out your own times on yourself. That's it, and I can't wait to see you from TechEd.
