Hi,
Why do we need a Zebra printer when we can print the barcodes on a normal printer?

because the printer is driven by its firmware programing instead of its native printer control language.

Hi Chandra,
Zebra printers are mainly used for printing labels. They are thermal printers and can have a high output volume. Regarding your question as to why not use a standard printer, SAP does not print bar codes with SAPscript unless the printer has the firmware to do it. In Smartforms, the barcode is converted into a graphic so any printer can do the job.

Setting up the Zebra Printer
Turn on the Zebra printer and connect the printer to your computer using the provided USB cord.
Open Printers & Scanners on your Windows machine. The printer should be auto-detected within your Printers & Scanners. Rename the printer as desired. Set the Zebra printer as the default printer.
