A script is a static form which is used for printing company specific documents like invoive,purchase order etc.A report is an executable program which can be static or interactive used to automate an existing business functionality.

script is basically used for printing,

report is for information,

printing a report is difficult,

report can be interactive,

script is not interactive,

script is client-dependent,

report is client-independent,

script is modified in most cases,

report is developed from the scratch,

Hi ,

Once very simple but not so precise answer would be scripts is used for external communication for e.g. PO , SO ,Quotation , so they can be said as a legal document , but reports are more for internal circulation and analysis.

but please do remember it is not a very precise answer.

Hi ,

Report can be interactive .Script cannot .

Report requires a lot of coding . Not necessary with sap script .

Easy to create windows in the sap script .

But report can implement any thing that a sap script can but requires lots of coding .

Sap script is difficult to format i.e., formatting the output .The alignment is difficult to make Where as in smart forms alignment can be judged and even logo is easy to fetch .

hi,

script is basically used for printing,

report outputs can also b printed,yet,scripts can get u the desired lay out.

script is client-dependent,

report is client-independent.

scripts are generally used wen some graphical or logo representations are required along with texts or tables in the output.

its not possible to insert any logo or graphical pic in a report i belive.
