Webdynpro FM call

Hi all,

We have a requirement where in we are required to display the employee bonus details in portal.The standard configuration does not meet this requirement ,hence we have configured the portal by adding a new column to display employee bonus.The custom Function module which we had created is working perfectly in R3.Can somebody detail the steps involved in linking the FM with portal.

Note :- The FM which we have created is normal FM and not Remote FM.

Hi,

If we want to access the FM outside then it should be a Remote Enabled one.

To call this FM from the POrtal wither we have to go for the Webdynpro for Java or ABAP.

We need to design the compoenent using the above (WDJ or WDfor ABAP) and call the FM as a service call then design the layout with UI elements and try to bind them to this Node of FM we can get the values being displayed.

We have to call the Execute MEthos ie generated automatically by the WD framwork and use the same in the Component.

Check the sample applcaition in either WD for Java or ABAP forum.

Thank you for your response.If possible can you please tell the configuration steps which are needed to be done in the R3 end (the linking of FM with the portal).

Hi,

As you have created the FM as Normal I think we cant call it from Portal. First try to make it as an RFC enabled.

Go to the SE37 tcode -> Attributes Tab-> Check the radiobutton as Remote enabled-> in the Import, Export,Tables paramteres where ever you have gibven the parameters make them as Pass by value.

After this try to activate your FM.

Let me know if you are using WD for ABAP or Java. So that I can help you to proceed further.

The issue is resolved partially.I was declaring the import & export paramaters using 'TYPE' ,i just replaced that keyword with 'LIKE', now the execution flow from portal started going through the FM.Now can you please tell me what values will be passed from the portal on to the FM.By the way its a java webdynpro.The following is the paramater strucuture of the FM.

IMPORT

COLNAME LIKE TWPC_COL-COLNAME

KEY_DATE LIKE OBJEC-BEGDA

BEGDA LIKE OBJEC-BEGDA

ENDDA LIKE OBJEC-ENDDA

LANGU LIKE SY-LANGU

EXPORT

Can you please tell me among the above paramaters where i can get the pernr , begda & endda so that i can fetch infotype values.

Hi,

These are related to the HR (Human Resources)

You can find the BENDA(start date) ENDDA(Enddate) in the infotypes PA0002 check the tables

in SE11(ABAP tcode for tables)-> give under the DB table name as PA* here we can find the list of the tables

Before executing it on the WD for Java pls run them in SAP ABAP.

YOu can run hte FM you have created in SE37 tcode->

Here press F8 button for run->

In the Import paramtreres section you need to pass the values->

Wihout givng any value try to run and chek th errors it is throiwing and let me know

What exacltyy the requirement, What details of HR you need to get so that I can help you out with the tables list for which you are looking for .

You can check the Table for Additional Paymnets Infotype where bonus will be shown-

PA0015

For the import paramters check the entires in the respective tables list for each one-

TWPC_COL -> Provide the column name

OBJEC is strcuture-> BEGDA(Start date) for an employee record

ENDDA(End date)

LANGU is a Language (English - EN)

Key_type - is a Object type ie Otype

I assume that based on the Input values you respcctive tables are being filled like

Hi ,

I am well aware of Function module processing.However i dont have a clue about the runtime values been passed from the portal end.Our requirement is to add an extra column in an existing standard portal application.We have the function module (Say 'B') which picks the required data and the inputs it needs are pernr,begda & endda . In the previous post i have provided the paramater structure of the FM (Say 'A')which was linked to the portal.( The FM B is called within the FM A ).

All i need to know is in which of the above paramaters can i find Pernr, begda & endda. Are you aware of Key date field & key_object structure & its significance shown in the above post?

Note :- I referred certain standard FMs (HRWPC_CB_APPRAISAL for instance) for creating the FM A.But i am not aware of the significance of the import parameters.

Hi,

we will get the data from the table PA0002 (Personal data)

Check this table for the entires and pass to them accordingly -

Pernr (Personnel number )

begda (start date and aslo pass the same as the Key date field)

endda (End date)

Langu- EN for English

For this Colname (check the entries in TWPC_COL table)-> i think we can pass the COLNAME as AP_DATE or AP_NAME or CP_APPRAISAL

Pass the Employee details for which you are doing the appraisals.

As your Functional consultant regarding this COLNAME.

Ask for the test data instead.

Try passinf the Todays date as the Key date.

One more thing you need to expliecilty do use the repsective Enqueue and DeQueue FM for the Appraisal (check in SE37 for these)

Hi Lekha,

Thanks a lot for all your inputs.Finally i figured a way out.Key date is the effective date for employee actions.The KEY_OBJECTS strucuture contains OBJID field which can be taken as pernr.I am not updating any values in the infotypes so i guess i wont have to en 'q' or de 'q' .
