Hi All,
We have a Z program which was changed recently. The changes have been moved to production but there are some errors in production because of the changes. We want to revert back to the older version but want to know the changes whcih we had done which caused the errors. Is it possible to keep the new version as an older version by retrieving the older version?

Karthik

IN your dev system, Retrieve the old version using the Version management in se38.
Choose from menu:
Utilityies->Versions->Version Management.
The version that got transported will still be available for comparision.

Hi,
You can compare your OLD versio nand NEW verison to identy the errors.
ALso you can select the OLD working verison and retrive it.
I think if you retirve the old version the new non working version should still be there.

Hi Karthik
I guess in production only one version is possible.
so al u can do is... do the version check and document the changes u have made...
and then revert back to ur older code in Dev and transport it
Cheers

Hi Karthik,
Version management is active for all objects of the ABAP Workbench.
Version management serves different purposes and user groups:
The developer can keep track of his or her work ("What have I changed?")
The developer can restore a previous version by reactivating it.
The system administrator can monitor work ("Which objects were changed and how in a specific time interval?")
It provides a basis for any auditor who requires a complete history of changes.
It enables customers to use the system to adjust data after they have upgraded to a new release.
Activities
You can access version management from the following:
Object Navigator (SE80)
Transport Organizer (SE09)
Display and maintenance transactions for Repository objects.
Reward pts for usefull answer :)
