Version management: Version creation type

hi gurus,

how a version creation type 'S' produced? the help says

"S"

System request: A version was created because of a system request (for example, for a backup copy before making a correction or repair, or before an import).

How to create that backup copy to produced a system request(S) version creation type?

Actually Type 'S' is created by the system when there is an notes / upgrade / hotfix applied from the system / SAP through modification assistance..

actuall i am not getting the point why you want to create a version with type 'S'.. while you can create you own version and recover them whenever u need..

.hi alnoor, thanks for the immediate response. iam investigating on how my version was reverted,i found my version adjacent type S and i just need to find clues of its trail before i escalate the issue. thanks for the help, Gobless
