Hi roja,

If the partner table is maintained on header level then there is no use for posnr.

but if the partner table is maintained on line item level then it will server the purpose of line item number.

hope now ite clear.

VBPA is Sales Partner Information table.

If you take any sales order as example then you will find there are header partner as well as item partner.

So if you enter only Sales order in VBPA it will give all header as well as item partner information. If you enter sales order with item then it will display only item partner information.

So for a given customer in the sales order we will have whatever partners we have allocated to the Customer??

How can we maintain Partners at Header and Item level??

It is Sales Document setting, Generally Sold to Party, Ship to Party, Bill to Party, Payer, Sales employee, Contact person are copied from customer master to sales document header.

Yes, the header and partner function are different. Some partner function specially maintained at item level. If you take example of Sold to Party which is you can maintained at item level as it has to maintained at header level.

All partner information you can get in SPRO or your functional consultant can help you for explaining header and item level partner.
